Dr. Nadia Elsheshtawy, Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, and an Infection Prevention and Control Consultant. I am IFBA Certified and a Certified Trainer from the Egyptian Health Council, and I also serve as an Instructor at the School of Business, American University in Cairo (AUC). I have contributed to research in several areas of clinical microbiology and infection control. My published research includes studies on neonatal sepsis; virulence factors in Acinetobacter and Pseudomonas species; rapid detection methods for ESBL-producing E. coli; genetic polymorphism in hepatitis C virus (HCV); MicroRNA-26a expression in patients with multiple sclerosis; the effect of propolis paste on microorganisms in the oral cavity; rapid methods for the diagnosis of infective endocarditis, Diagnostic tests for COVID and several other topics in microbiology and infection prevention. I have also participated in the development of the Egyptian National Guidelines for Infection Control, contributing to the advancement and standardization of infection prevention and control practices in healthcare settings across Egypt.
